A very fun warm-up for young players, which is themed around this year’s Women’s Euros.
This fun game is themed around this year’s Uefa Women’s Euros. It gives young players the opportunity to enjoy a fun warm-up, working on their ABCs (agility, balance, co-ordination, speed), and dribbling/running with the ball.
Mark out an area relative to the age, ability and number of players. Set out a few stations around the area – each should be named after a country in the Euros. Choose one tagger to start in the middle of the area.
Players start equally divided across the different stations. The coach calls out the name of two countries (e.g "England and Spain").
In this example, the players standing on the England station must run to the Spain station, and vice versa, without being caught by the tagger. If a player is caught, they become a tagger as well. The last player remaining wins.
Players should move quickly and look for space. When balls are introduced, encourage players to take smaller touches in crowded areas and bigger touches in space.
